Blanche L. Fechter, 94, passed from this life into the arms of her precious Savior Jesus Christ on February 10, 2015, at Plains Regional Hospital, where she had served as a Pink Lady volunteer.
Blanche was born on January 1, 1921. She had lived in Chicago, Kansas, and Clovis, NM. She was married by her dad, Rev. Smith, to the love of her life, Harold Fechter for 72 years before his passing in December 2011.
Blanche is survived by her brother, Warren of Montana; 3 sons, Larry (Barbara) Belen, NM, Robert (Teri) of Arizona, Don of Kansas; one daughter, Mahnis Ogden of Arkansas; 18 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her son, Tim; two grandsons, Peter and Michael; a granddaughter, Kaylin Blair and her sisters, Dot and Myrle. She is leaving behind a host of friends, church family and care givers.
Blanche was a woman of forgiveness, great faith, and belief in the Lord. She made the best of every situation with a smile and hope in the faithfulness of God. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and attended services regularly. She was so expectant of years to come as she had just had a knee replacement in November. She will be missed by many.
Cremation has taken place by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 20, 2015, at Trinity United Methodist Church.
