Harvie Perry "Pud" Winkles, 92, of Clovis, NM, passed away January 20, 2015 in his home.
He was born February 4, 1922 in Clovis, NM, to Harvie and Ardie Winkles. Perry was a member of the Advent Christian Church. Perry married Rada Winkles on July 5, 1947. He served as past mayor of Texico, NM, and past fire chief of Texico Volunteer Fire Dept. He was lovingly called Pepa by his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his son, Harvie Winkles; parents, Harvie and Ardie Winkles; sisters, Minnie Hilliard, Jean Skaggs, Mary Lewis, Jeanette Woods; and brothers, Jake Winkles and O.L. Winkles.
Perry is survived by his wife, Rada Winkles of Clovis, NM; son, Terry Max Winkles of Texico, NM; daughter, Beverly Ford of Alamogordo, NM; sisters, Dorothy Dudley of Clovis, NM and Ruth Williams of Hereford, TX; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Perry will be in state for public viewing from 8:00am - 8:00pm on Thursday, January 22, 2015 and Friday, January 23, 2015 at Steed Todd Funeral Home. The service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 24 at Steed Todd Chapel with Sam Walsh officiating. Perry will be laid to rest at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Winkles, Josh Winkles, Jacob Winkles, Mike Buszka, Billy Don Winkles, and Ernest Woods.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Steed-Todd Funeral Home and Crematory, 800 E Manana Blvd, Clovis, New Mexico (575) 763-5541.
