Jessie Ellison

Jessie Nadine Ellison, 92, of Clovis passed away on December 30, 2014, at Wheatfields Senior Living Community in Clovis. She had lived in Clovis for over 64 years.

Jessie Nadine was born in Terrell, Texas, on May 3, 1922, to Pinkney Lawson Owen and Bertha Dell Owen. She loved her family and friends and wrote frequently to keep in touch. Her letters were always encouraging and kind. Even in her last months she continued to write about 30 to 50 letters per month. This gift of hers will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. She brought much joy through her letter writing.

Jessie Nadine was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, John E. Ellison, on April 26, 2013. Their marriage was a true testament of long-term love and respect. She was preceded in death by her son, John E. Ellison II, on February 24, 1949, and her daughter, Marion Jo Ellison, on January 20, 1967. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers (Robert Owen and Jerry Owen), and one sister (Anita Search). She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 9:00 am (MST) on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at the Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis.
