JoAnn Brown, 88, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Saturday, July 30, 2022 in Clovis, New Mexico. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 2nd, at Steed Todd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3rd, at 16th & Pile church of Christ with Michael Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Melrose, New Mexico.
JoAnn was born in Texico, New Mexico to Isaac and Ida Bright on July 18, 1934. After graduating from Melrose High School she attended a business school in Lubbock, Texas where meeting her husband. She married Bob Brown on March 7, 1954 in Clovis, New Mexico. She retired from the Clovis school system after 19 years of service. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was a longtime member of 16th & Pile church of Christ, she loved the New Mexico mountains and her place in Cimarron, New Mexico and her flower gardens.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Isaac & Ida Bright, daughter, Patti Jones, granddaughter, Jessica Brown, sisters, Florine Hawkins, Mary Lou Pinkston, Faye Bright and brother Grady Bright.
She is survived by her husband Bob, son Jerry and spouse Janice, daughter Julie Tosh and spouse Steve, son-in-law Stan Jones, sister Ginger Hill and sister-in-law Mary Lois Bright. Grandchildren, Justine (Antonio) Nunez, Cara (Thomas) Essig, Samantha (Clint) Foutch, Jordan (Brittany) Brown, Rachel (Lawson) Priess and Jayden (Cory) Taylor. Great grandchildren, Caden, Ashton and Kenleigh Nunez, Tatum, Brody, John and James Foutch, Carson and Barrett Essig.
