Adam Crouch

On Friday, July 4, 2014, Adam Lee Crouch went to be with his Lord.
Adam was the eldest child of Adam Lee Crouch, Sr., and Jackie Cain Crouch. Adam was born on November 24, 1918, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. His family moved to Amarillo, Texas, where he grew up with his younger brother Jack and sister Elizabeth.
Adam graduated from Amarillo High School and immediately joined the Texas National Guard. After the Texas National Guard was mobilized at the beginning of World War II, Adam served in the United States Army with distinction for the 32 years, earning three Bronze Star medals, the Purple Heart, and the Air Medal along with medals for service in World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam. During his military service, he attended the University of Michigan, the University of Maryland, and the Army Command and Staff College in Leavenworth, Kansas. He retired from the Army in 1967 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Adam married Mary Aola Wilmeth in Amarillo, Texas, on February 25, 1940. Adams military career took his family to many locations throughout the world including Japan and Germany along with assignments in Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois, and Texas. After military retirement, Adam returned to Illinois to work as Supervisor of Plants Security for Zenith Radio Corporation in Chicago. Retiring from Zenith five years later, Adam and Mary moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, for several years, and finally relocated to Clovis, New Mexico, in 1981.
Adam was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, and an infant daughter, Carolee.
Adam is survived by his son Mark Crouch and his wife Karen of San Angelo, Texas, granddaughters Vicki McEwin and husband Billie of Midland, Texas, and Amy Crouch of Dallas, Texas, greatgranddaughters Rebecca Crouch of San Angelo, Texas, and Kaitlyn Perlas of Dallas, Texas, along with several nephews and nieces and their families. He is also survived by his sisterinlaws, Nell Crouch of Clovis, and Louise Minton of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Adam was a member, Sunday school teacher, and elder emeritus of Central Christian Church in Clovis. Adam was an active Mason for most of his adult life. He served as past master of Pea Ridge lodge 119 in Brightwater, Arkansas , Honorary Past Master of Clovis Lodge 40, Royal Arch Mason, Royal and Select Mason, Knights Templar, Roadrunner York Rite College 177 of New Mexico. He was District Deputy Grand MasterArkansas, Grand Warden and Grand MarshallNew Mexico Grand Masonic Lodge. He was also a Shrine Clown and was past president of the Clovis Shrine Club Clowns.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Wheatfields Senior Living Community and Gentiva Hospice for their love and care during Adams last days. Special thanks to special friends Elaine Randall and Brian and Karen Miller.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at SteedTodd Funeral Home.
Service for Adam will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Central Christian Church in Clovis.
