Adam Garcia

Adam Steve Garcia, 69, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He was born September 14, 1940, in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to Candido and Agapita Aragon Garcia.

He married Phyllis Ruiz May 25, 1963 in Clovis. He served as a firefighter for Clovis and Cannon Air Force Base for 25 years. He also worked as a furniture repairman for Ealy Furniture and McDaniel Furniture for 35 years. His hobbies included playing the guitar, fishing and traveling. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Phyllis Garcia sons, Stephen Garcia, Jason Garcia and Jeremy Garcia JoAnna daughters, Michelle Gallegos John, Leslie Chavez Roland, Felicia Dobbs Vernon and Stephanie Hicks Nito grandsons, Johnny Garcia, Antonio Hicks, Tucker Dobbs, Roland Chavez, David Griego, Jacob Garcia, John John Gallegos, Aron Hicks, Joaquin Garcia and Joshua Hicks granddaughters, Adrianna Griego, Alejandra Chavez, Julie Garcia, Serena Garcia, Clarissa Gallegos, Ayisa Hicks, Jaelyn Garcia, Jenay Garcia, Jaymi Dobbs brothers, Joe Garcia Delia and Jesse Garcia Valerie sisters, Virginia Chavez Esmael, Ida Munoz Joe and Rose Peugh Charles and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jamie Garcia.

A rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Memorial Mass following at 10:30 a.m. with Fathers Carlos Chavez and Lorenzo Ruiz as celebrants. Cremation has taken place and the cremains will be buried at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.

The family will be at his home.
