Services for Mrs. Alberta Estes, 91, of Melrose, New Mexico will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 17, 2006 at Melrose Church of Christ with Grady Bright officiating. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery. Mrs. Estes was born September 20, 1914 in Melrose to Albert Della Wade. She died Friday, July 14 in Clovis, New Mexico.
She married Ed Estes April 7, 1937 and was a homemaker and avid quilter. She was a member of Melrose Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ed Estes in October 1992; brothers Hollin and Therman Harris and J. B. Wade; sister Pearl Dickens and son John H. Estes.
She is survived by sisters Dorine Burton of Melrose and Betty Terry of Stapleton, Georgia; daughters Cora Lee Jester of McAlister, New Mexico, Fay Jean Smith of Clovis, Mary Ann Martin of Muleshoe, Texas; son Marvin Estes of Melrose; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
