Alex I. Romero, 69, of Clovis, NM, passed away on September 22, 2022, in Clovis with his family by his side.
Visitation will be from 4-8pm on October 3, 2022, at Steed Todd Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on October 4, 2022, at Steed Todd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis, NM. With Pastor Jon Forrest officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Alex was born in Lake Arthur, New Mexico to Dionicio (Sonny) Romero and Mary Ellen (Valdez) Romero on July 31, 1953, at home. He went to school at Clovis High School and graduated in 1971. He married Bertha (Barela) Romero March 4, 1974, Clovis, NM. In 1993 he started his own business, A.I.R.C.O Construction, well known for his work, the best drywaller in town. He was a renaissance man, all around guy. He could work on anything and fix everything! He was always giving and willing to help people. Alex was a perfectionist in all that he did! Most of all he brought joy and love to us all, never a dull moment!
Alex is preceded in death by father Dionicio (Sonny) Romero, wife Bertha Romero, and son Donicio A. Romero.
Alex is survived by sons Ignacio Romero and Alejandro Romero, Daughter Michelle Romero (Joe Padilla). Sisters Viola Garcia of Clovis, NM, Erica Taylor (Kenneth) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Maxine Romero (Sylvia) of Lubbock, TX, Desna Wolf (Jeremy) Artesia, NM. Brothers Alfred Romero (Juanita) of Roswell, NM, Billy, Alfonso and Milton Romero of Artesia, NM, Noel Romero of Lubbock, TX and mother Mary Ellen Romero of Artesia, NM. Grandchildren Anthony Romero (Suecally) of El Rito, NM, Yolanda Romero (Brandon) of Chama, NM, Isaiah Romero of Vallecitos, NM, Joe Padilla (Debra) of Clovis, NM, Diego Padilla (Camila) of Clovis, NM, Jade and Jenell Padilla of Clovis, NM, Skyler Romero of Albuquerque, NM, Saylor and Reese Romero of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Belal Salem of Arizona. Great-grandchildren Anthony Jr. and Orlando Romero of El Rito, Isabella, Muthana and Joe Padilla IV.
Pallbearers will be Ignacio and Alejandro Romero, Joe and Diego Padilla, Elias Chavez and Johnny Barela.
The family of Alex wish to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Ghaffari, Dr. Mac, the nurses of the Cancer Center, hospice nurses and all family and friends for all the prayers and thinking of us during our time of loss. Thank you all so much!
