Alfonso “Poncho” Jaramillo was born on the 13th of August, 1948 in Ordway, CO.
Jaramillo worked as a skilled auto mechanic as well as a cook at Leal’s restaurant. Poncho spent in total with Mary Barbara (Urioste) Jaramillo for 38 years, married for 19 of them. Alfonso was a strong-willed man who was always the first to offer help when a friend was in need. He didn’t have much but would offer the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He had bright, loving eyes that would light up a room, and he will be sorely missed.
Alfonso died peacefully at his home in Clovis, New Mexico on February 28th, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father Alfonso Jaramillo Sr, his mother Lucy Jaramillo, his sister Maxine Scarbrough, his brother Tony Jaramillo, His daughter Rebecca Jaramillo, his daughter Suzanne Urioste, grandsons Thomas and Jonathan, and his brother in law Jose L. Urioste.
He is survived by his darling wife Barbara of Clovis, New Mexico, sons: Carlos of Roswell, New Mexico, Tony of Wichita Falls, Texas, daughters: Imelda of McAllen, Texas, Isabel of Roswell, New Mexico, Lucy of Roswell, New Mexico, Mayra of Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, Michelle of Clovis, New Mexico, and Natasha of Clovis, New Mexico.
A visitation will be held at Steed-Todd Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Saturday March 7th, 2020 followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm also on Saturday March 7th, 2020 at Steed-Todd Funeral-Home.
Alfonso Jaramillo was handsome, intelligent; a jack of all trades, and had an incredibly selfless heart. He will be forever missed by all those who knew him.
