Alice Garcia

Alice C. Garcia, age 73, of Clovis entered into rest on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in Lubbock, TX. She was born on May 23, 1943 in Clovis, NM to the home of Pablo and Fabiana (Gonzalez) Chavez, Sr. She married Henry Garcia on September 2, 1966 in Clovis, NM and they were married for 50 years.

She enjoyed sewing, playing BINGO, her music, cooking, watching movies, playing cards and playing dominoes. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and she had a love of all animals, especially cats. Alice babysat children for family and was also an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus for many years and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.

She is survived by her husband Henry of the home; two sons, Michael (Roseann) Garcia of Clovis and Marcus Garcia (Danna) of Denver, CO; two brothers, Steve Chavez, Sr., and Paul Chavez, Jr.; nephews, Steve Chavez, Jr., and Matthew (Melissa) Chavez, Sr.; her grandchildren, Anyssa (Joseph) Sosa and Quintin Garcia; and one great-granddaughter, Rosalina Sosa.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Sunday, February, 19, 2017 in the Steed-Todd Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10:30 am with Fr. Angelo Marquez, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mission Garden of Memories Cemetery in Clovis. Serving as Pallbearers are; Quintin Garcia, Joseph Sosa, Paul Gonzales, Nathaniel Lopez, Matthew Chavez, Jr., and Brandon Chavez. Honorary Pallbearers Nephews and Nieces.
