Aline Spies

Aline Ritchey Spies, 77, of Brandon, Mississippi, died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born November 9, 1932, in Lockney, Texas to Amos L. Josie Dee Carthel Ritchey.

She was a member of the Clovis High School Class of 1950. She married Gerald D. Spies January 22, 1950, in Texico, New Mexico. She was a telephone operator in Clovis for Mountain Bell and ENMR. When Don was born she stayed home to be a house wife and mother. She moved to Longview, Texas, in 1989 and was caretaker of her grandson, Sean, until 1997. She later became a caretaker of the elderly in Longview, Texas, until she moved to Jackson, Mississippi, in 2006. She had a great love for the Lord and was always a member of a ladies prayer group. She was an avid reader and will be missed by her family and many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her son, Don Spies Dharla of Brandon, Mississippi 1 brother, Fred L. Ritchey Betty of Longview, Texas 1 sister, Deanna LockmillerBooty Mike of Ranchvale, New Mexico 5 grandchildren, Dustin Williams Courtney, Aaron Williams Christi and Sean Spies all of Jackson, Amanda Loosli Brian of Twin Falls, Idaho and Gerald Spies of Anchorage, Alaska and 1 great grandchild, Asher Elijah Williams of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald D. Spies her parents, Amos L. and Josie Dee Carthel Ritchey 2 brothers, Thomas Ritchey and A. D. Ritchey 1 sister, Anna Bell Ritchey and 1 grandchild, Charity Dawn Spies.

Services will be at 2:00 p. m. Thursday, May 13, 2010, at SteedTodd Chapel in Clovis, New Mexico with Jim Craven officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell, Texas.

Casket bearers will be Roger Hatcher, Freddie Lee Ritchey, Dewane Bilbrey, Brett Lockmiller, Tammy Northcutt and Shelly Faris. Honorary casket bearers will be Leland McNab, Clint Cruzberg, Robert Hammond and Grant Morrison.
