Alma Louise Lingnau, 88, of Farwell, Texas, died Sunday, October 15, 2006 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico. She was born March 11, 1918 in Honey Grove, Texas to Henry John Hilda Stoehner Hintz.
She married Otto Lingnau February 12, 1939 in Honey Grove, Texas. She moved to the Farwell area in 1939 and helped her husband on the farm. She loved to cook, can, sew and read her Bible. She loved her Lord and Savior. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Lariat, Texas. She served many offices in the LWML and was a Lutheran Braille worker.
She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Martin Rev. Murray of Clovis, New Mexico; 3 sons, Delbert Lingnau Myrna and Melvin Lingnau all of Lariat, Texas and Edwin Lingnau Mary Ann of Clovis, New Mexico; 2 sisters, Mildred Yarbrough of Honey Grove, Texas and Ruth Tarkon of Oak Harbour, Washington; 1 brother, Ernest Hintz of Austin, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 daughter, Carolyn; 1 brother, William and 1 sister, Ella Jacob.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Todd Lingnau, Mike Lingnau, Kirk Lingnau, Brandon Lingnau, Brent Lingnau Linny Beal.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. CDT Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lariat, Texas with Rev. David Symm officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell, Texas
The family will be at 2001 Wallace in Clovis. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Braille Workers, co St. John Lutheran Church, Rt. 1 Box 146, Farwell, Texas 79325-9753.
