Althea Veazey, 86, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at BSA Hospice in Amarillo, Texas. She was born July 6, 1921, in McLean, Texas to Nugent Annie Althea Robnett Kunkel.
She married Carter Lee Veazey July 2, 1938 in Amarillo. They lived in California from 1941 to 1946 and returned to Amarillo in 1946. They moved to Guymon, Oklahoma in 1951 and to Clovis in 1952. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist church since 1952 and was a member of the Morning Circle of United Methodist Women and the Board of Trustees at Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by 1 son, David Veazey Nancy of Charleston, West Virginia; 1 daughter, Phyllis Bennett Richard of Stinnett, Texas; 1 sister Drucilla Geisler of Hurst, Texas and 7 grandchildren, Karina Eriksen, Monica Andrews, J. C. Bennett, Ricky Bennett, Lynn Wooden, Wayne Miller Todd Miller and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 2 brothers, Oran Lee Kunkel and Robert Kenneth Kunkel.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Clovis with Rev. Margot Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
