Alvie Riley

A. Ned Riley age 77 of Clovis, New Mexico passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Wheatfields Assisted Living in Clovis. Ned was born August 28, 1936 in Portales, New Mexico to Michael Franklin and Myrtle Grace Goates Riley. Ned married Emma Jeanene Bazemore on Aug. 29, 1954 in Portales, NM. He worked as a phone technician for U.S. Qwest Phone Company until his retirement after forty five years. Ned loved to play the piano and the mandolin. He taught Sunday school and was a member of 21st St. Church of Christ. Ned played in the 42 League and played for Portales but most of all Ned truly loved his family.

Ned is survived by his two sons and their wives David Cheryl Riley of Hobbs, New Mexico
Mike Rose Riley of Clovis, New Mexico five grandchildren Tasha Riley of Clovis, Stacee Patton of Clovis, Gary Morris of Cleveland, Ohio, Shawna Carter of Hobbs, New Mexico, and John David Riley of Albuquerque, New Mexico six great grandchildren Elizabeth Patton, Ethen Patton, Austin Morris, Jackson Morris, Audrey Carter, and Cameron Carter. He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one sister and three brothers.

Services are scheduled for Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at 21st Street Church of Christ with Larry Tittle officiating. Burial will follow at the Portales Cemetery in Portales, New Mexico with Phillip Riley, Eddy Riley, Carl Patton, Daniel Patton, Jimmy Roberts, and John David Riley serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Boldwin, Ron Johnson, Steve Credle, P.J. Carter, Cecil Bunch, Tommy Doolittle, Billy Neal Williams, Raymond Adkins and Jim Howell.
