Alvin Wyatt

Alvin Wyatt passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at his home in Las Cruces, NM.

Alvin was born on August 28, 1940 to D.C. (Doc) and Edna Josephine Wyatt. Alvin grew up and attended school at House, N.M. While in school, Alvin worked for local farmers and ranchers. He later worked at the House Co-op. At the age of 24, he was drafted into the US Army. Alvin served in the Vietnam War as a medic. After being discharged from the Army, he came home to House, N.M. Shortly after that, he began work at Gebo's in Clovis. While at Gebo's he was promoted to Assistant Manager and then to Manager. Alvin retired form Gebo's after 37 years. During his years at Gebo's, he also operated a trucking company, Alvin Wyatt Trucking. He enjoyed driving a truck, working around his busy schedule at Gebo's. Shortly after his retirement, Alvin moved to Las Cruces, N.M. where he worked at Rio Grande Pump and Supply for the next 10 years. He loved John Deere Tractors and spent many hours listening to gospel and old country music.

Survivors include, Kathy Jameson of the home, a sister, Ruth Smith of Albuquerque, a brother, Wayne (Eva) Wyatt of El Paso, TX, a sister-in-law, Alice Wyatt of Clovis and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Doc and Josephine, a brother Alden Wyatt, a brother Ralph Wyatt and a brother-in-law, Fred Smith.

A visitation will be Friday, January 29 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Steed Todd Funeral Home in Clovis, N.M.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Steed Todd Chapel in Clovis, N.M. Interment will be at Lawn Haven. After the funeral service the family will be at Parkland Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

The family would like to express a special Thank You to the staff of the VA of Las Cruces, N.M., the Neuro Surgery Unit of the University of N.M. in Albuquerque, and Mesilla Valley Hospice of Las Cruces.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The University of N.M. Cancer Center or the Wounded Warrior.
