Angie Fitt

Angie Locknane Fitt died peacefully, surrounded by her family in Hobbs, New Mexico, on March 2, 2011. Angie, the daughter of Jesse Armstrong Locknane and Ruby Dunn Locknane, was born in Cameron, New Mexico, on October 23, 1926.

She graduated from Clovis High School in 1944. She attended Eastern New Mexico University and graduated in 1950 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in business and economics. She married Bobby Dean Fitt on August 24, 1952. After the first of their three children was born, Angie became a fulltime homemaker. Bob and Angie moved to Roswell in 1962 and lived there until 2006. Angie was a devoted wife and mother whose greatest joy was her family and they dearly love her in return.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years son, Jeffrey Dean Fitt Katrina of Los Lunas, New Mexico daughters, Susan Fitt Francke Erich of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Jennifer Fitt Webb Steven of Saint Charles, Missouri granddaughters, Brittani Francke of Houston, Texas, and Ashley Webb Bronson of Tucson, Arizona grandsons, Dustin Francke of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Matt Fitt of Los Lunas, New Mexico sisterinlaw, June Edwards Locknane of Clovis, New Mexico and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Eugene Locknane.

Graveside services will be held at Wheatland Cemetery on Saturday, March 12, 2011. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:30 a.m. at SteedTodd Funeral Home, 800 E. Manana, in Clovis and process to the cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Goodlife Assisted Living in Hobbs for their loving care.
