Anita Chavez

Anita Charlotte Chavez, age 68, of Clovis, New Mexico passed away on March 12, 2013 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Anita was born on February 12, 1945 in Clovis, New Mexico to Alvaro and Agnes Marquez Garcia. Anita was a Clovis resident all of her life. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1963. She married Frederick Chavez on September 26, 1964 in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2008. Anita worked as the manager of the RSVP Program in Curry County. She was an avid bingo player and she loved to sew and quilt. Anita loved her great granddaughter, who she baby sat for. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis.

Anita is survived by two daughters: Yvonne Bobby Lumsden and Florence Roger Jackson and two sons: Anthony Chavez and Mario Bianca Marez Chavez one sister: Dolores Filimon Montoya and one brother: Charles Olivia Garcia, all of Clovis, New Mexico eleven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband: Frederick Chavez one brother: Alex Garcia and one nephew: Michael Montoya.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis, New Mexico. Memorial Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Father Steve Brosk officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis, New Mexico. Honorary Pall Bearers are Anthony Chavez, II, Telicia Chavez, Ashley Marquez, Kimberly Lumsden, Shelby Jackson, Kolby Barton, Preston Chavez, Sailor Chavez, Abel Montoya and Gabe Montoya
