Anita Zachrel

Anita J Zachrel,79, of Texico, NM, passed away Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 in Lubbock TX.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, September 11th at the First Baptist Church in Texico. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home & Crematory.

Anita was born in Clovis to Elmer Ray and Mabel Edith Tharp on November 1st, 1936. She went to school in Texico and graduated high school there. She worked for many years in the Curry County Treasurer's office. Anita also retired from Kmart and worked for 10 years at Walmart in Clovis.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Mabel Tharp, and her daughter, Edith Skuca.

Anita is survived by her children Ray (Tonya) Zachrel of Lebo, KS; Joe Skuca of Nada, TX; Steven Zachrel of Clovis, NM; and Linda (George) Zachrel-Hazelbaker of Clovis, NM; three sisters, Mary Ann Snider of Lawton, OK; Connie (Phil) Elliot of Brennan, TX; Judith Getz of Richfield, MN; one brother, Nathan (Fern) Tharp of Texico, NM; two aunts, Nita Fryar of Clovis, NM; and Beth Howard of Dalhart, TX; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to your local humane society or animal rescue organization.
