Mildred Boney Moyers died Sunday, August 23, 2015 in Clovis.
She was born April 8, 1924 to Lloyd Marshall and Malissia Bryant Boney in Bellview, NM. They moved to Broadview, formerly known as Boney Curve when she was a small child and also lived on a farm North of Broadview. She attended Boney School, Bellview and Grady Schools then they moved to San Jon where she graduated from high school. She owned Mildred's Drug Store and Fountain in San Jon before moving to Clovis. She worked at Blair Motors, Burkett Moving and Storage and was office manager at Farmers' Cooperative Elevators for over thirty years. After retiring she worked for USDA Agriculture Statistics. Mildred was a member of Kingswood Methodist Church. She was active in United Methodist Women having served in different offices in the New Mexico Conference, Clovis District and her local church. She was also active in the Grady Extension Club and served as Curry County Extension Council President. Mildred was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing and quilting for herself, her family and others.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Marshall and Elmer Boney, sisters-in law Mildred, Faye and Aline Boney. Two half-brothers Tom and Earl Boney and a half-sister Myrtle Furlong.
Mildred is survived by a daughter Marcella McGraw, a son Tim Moyers and daughter-in-law Connie. Four grandsons, Cody Owens (Cyndi), Colt Owens, Ty Moyers and Clay Moyers (Hope). Three great granddaughters Amber Couch (Jason), Cheyanne Owens Cauthron (Hut) and Kayla Owens. Three great-great granddaughters, Lenisa and Kyla Couch, Kylie Light and two great-great grandsons Anthony Ruiz and Weston Moyers. She is also survived by her brother Archie Boney and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Steed Todd Funeral Home Friday, August 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Services will be held Saturday, August 29 at 9:00 a.m. at Kingswood Methodist Church, 2600 N. Main, Clovis, NM with Pastor Gerald White officiating. Burial will follow at Grady Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Cody, Colt, Ty and Clay, nephews Mark and Kim Boney. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Boney, Kelly Boney, friends and her many farmer friends.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mildred's memory to the Sacramento Methodist Assembly or to the Alzheimer's Association.
