Arthur Pena

Arthur David Pena, 52, of Portales, New Mexico, died Thursday, August 20, 2009, at his home. He was born January 19, 1957 in Portales to Max Priscilla Lucero Pena.

He attended school in Portales and also attended Eastern New Mexico University. He married Socorro Sena February 14, 1976 in Villanueva, New Mexico. He worked at Cargill as a forklift driver. He loved camping, guitar, singing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Victory Life Church in Portales.

He is survived by 1 daughter, Denise Olivarez David of Olton, Texas; 2 sons, Andy Pena Shanna and Armando Pena all of Portales; his parents, Max Pena and Priscilla Pena both of Portales; 2 brothers, Dickie Pena Virginia and Steve Pena all of Portales; 1 sister, Becky Lovato Bruno of Borger, Texas; 8 grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles cousins and his companion, Wendy Draper of Clovis.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Socorro Pena; 1 brother, Ernie Max Pena and his grandparents.

Casket bearers will be Chris Sena, Mark Aranda, Johnny Joe Madrid, Russell Anaya, Atilano Lovato Chris Pena. Honorary casket bearers will be Bruno Lovato, Rudy Sotero, Raymond Tafoya, Teddy Draper, Jerome Anaya Eugene Anaya.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009 at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis with Rev. Pete Jaramillo David Lombrana officiating. Burial will follow at Portales Cemetery in Portales.

A prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Steed-Todd Chapel.

The family will be at 621 West 6th in Portales.
