The world lost a beloved mother and grandmother, Barbara (Fiore) Brown, on December 13, 2020. Barbara was born in Miami, Florida on August 8, 1944 and graduated from N.B. Forrest High School in Jacksonville, FL. After moving to Clovis, NM in 1975, Barbara earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in education from Eastern New Mexico University.
Barbara was a Special Education teacher in the Clovis Municipal School District. She was extremely passionate about the children she supported and dearly loved them all. She was one that shared both their pains and their joys. Barbara was also an avid lover of all animals which is something each of her sons have inherited from her.
Barbara is survived by her dear companion Barry Steigley. They were best friends and inseparable for over 30 years. She is also survived by her brother Clinton Fiore, her two sons Raymond Brown and Daniel Brown, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son David Brown, and her parents Elmer and Janet Fiore.
It was Barbara’s wishes to not have a memorial service, and in lieu of flowers, please donate to the animal shelter or animal rescue of your choice.
