Beatrice Sandoval

Beatrice Marie Bea Sandoval, age 88, of Clovis, NM died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at her home in Clovis. She was born on September 3, 1922, to I. F. and Felia Chavez in Cedarvale, NM.

She married Joseph Spitz Sandoval of Clovis, NM, on February 14, 1941, in Belen, NM. They began their life together in Clovis, where Joseph Joe was employed with the Santa Fe Railroad. Bea was a homemaker, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she served as Eucharistic Minister, was in the Ladies Alter Society and sang in the choir. She had an enthusiastic interest in politics and began a working career in the 60s for the Curry County Assessors Office which she retired from in 1988. She spent the remainder of her life traveling, quilting, and enjoying her children and their families. She loved life and especially serving the Lord.

Bea is survived by eight children, Patricia Vince Russell of Morgantown, WV, Christopher Sandoval, JoAnn Teeters, Michael Sandoval and Lucille Conley, all of Clovis, NM, Bernadette Grover of Midland, TX, Mary Louise Tootie Waymond Smith of Las Cruces, NM, and J. Steve Debbie Sandoval of Tome, NM 15 grandchildren 20 greatgrandchildren and two very special caregivers, Aurelia Carrera and Andriana Trujillo.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Sandoval her parents and one grandson, James Edward Russell.

A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 31, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clovis. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Carlos Chavez officiating. Casket bearers will be Beas grandsons: Vince Stephens, Clint Stephens, Shane Sandoval, Jedidiah Sandoval, Matthew Garcia, Joshua Conley and Michael Russell. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
