Benny Earl Barrow, age 73, died Monday, October 13, after a lengthy battle with ALS also known as Lou Gehrigs Disease.
Benny was born to Ralph and Stella Barrow on August 1, 1941, in Clovis, New Mexico. He married Vicki Karen Moss on October 20, 1964. Ben and Vicki were the father of two children, Tracy and Lance. Benny was a farmer in the Ranchvale community through the mid80s. He and his wife owned and operated Bens Barbeque for nearly 25 years, until his retirement in 2009. In 2010, Lance and his wife Tichia made him a proud grandparent, with the birth of their son, Walker Lee Barrow.
Benny was the youngest of seven children, four of whom predeceased him: Burnis Barrow, John Barrow, Marie Foulkes, and Leo Barrow. He is survived by his wife, his children and grandchild, his two sisters, Janie Kirkpatrick and Nina Barrow, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Benny was an avid fisherman and golfer. He enjoyed playing poker and 42 with his many friends. He was dedicated to his family and it was his greatest joy to be a grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18th at 11:00 a.m., at Steed Todd Funeral Home, 800 E Manana Blvd. Clovis, New Mexico. Following the memorial service, there will be a reception to celebrate Bens life, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at KBobs Steakhouse, 1600 Mabry Drive in Clovis.
