Berna Jene Sandersbr1929-2009brbrOn the morning of December 28th, Berna Jene Sanders age 80, of Clovis slipped away to be with Jesus. She was born June 26, 1929 in Elida, New Mexico to Neil C. and Bessie L. Fedric Krietzberg but lived in Clovis most of her life. Berna attended Hardin Simmons and received a degree in Art in 1951. She married William Sanders June 14, 1953 in Clovis. Bill was in the Air Force, so they got to see many different places, including her favorite, Okinawa, Japan. After her husband passed away in 1980, she went to ENMU and got her masters degree. She was a teacher working at Lockwood Elementary and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School. After retiring, she indulged in many of her hobbies including painting, playing her organ, creating miniatures and collecting dolls. Berna was also a member of First Baptist Church and then Sandia Baptist. She was a wonderful prayer warrior and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.brbrShe is survived by one daughter Jene Sanders of Clovis; one son Neil J. and his wife Melissa Sanders of Clovis; long time friend of the family Michael Conover of Clovis; many loving cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and stillborn brother, Charlie Joe.brbrNo services will be held, visitation will be at the funeral home until 8:00 p.m. tonight with the family there from 5-7 and from 8-11 on Thursday.
