Bernadette Madrid

Bernadette "Bernie" L. Madrid, age 56, of Clovis, New Mexico entered into rest on Thursday, April 2, 2015. She was born to the home of Alfonso Mateo Gallegos and Cornelia Viasana on May 15, 1958 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. She was a member of the American Legion Post # 25, American Legion Post # 117 and the VFW. She loved to dance and enjoyed the company of her many friends and family and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking out and always knew how to make people laugh. She will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her mother, Cornelia "Connie" Gallegos of Clovis; two daughters, Matilda Madrid and Jessica (Daniel) Ortiz both of Clovis; one sister, Rebecca (Calvin) Alford of Amarillo, Texas; Grandchildren, Isaiah Rodriguez and Raquel Rodriguez, both of Amarillo, Texas, Mateo Madrid and Kaite Madrid both of Clovis, New Mexico; one niece, Felicia (Tommy) Romero of Portales, New Mexico; and one nephew, Christopher Pacheco, Jr. of Roswell, New Mexico; she is also survived by whom she considered a son, Carlos (Dora) Rivero of Clovis, New Mexico.

She is preceded in death by her father, Alfonso Mateo Gallegos, her grandparents, Juan and Delores Lola Viasana and her loving companion and partner Juereter "Lisa" Williams.

A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Steed-Todd Chapel with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Per Bernie's wishes, Burial will take place privately and at a later date.

Honorary Pallbearers are, Gabriel Lopez, Sr., Cody Morrison, Harold Gallegos, Jr., Michael Garcia, Alfonso Gallegos, Family and Friends.
