Betty Zane Carpenter Urban, January 23, 1927 August 28, 2012

Betty Zane Carpenter Urban, 85, died August 28, 2012 at home in Clovis, NM. She was
born on January 23, 1927 in Hobart, 0K. Jon Forrest will conduct funeral services at
First Christian Church at 10:00 am Saturday, September 1, 2012. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories with all her grandsons serving as Casket Bearers.

Betty moved from Oklahoma to Clovis, NM after high school graduation where she met
and married N. O. Bud Carpenter. She worked as a sales clerk at Penneys and as a
secretary for Byron Black construction and Clovis Municipal Schools. She belonged
to the VFW Auxiliary, Portair Club and was a volunteer pink lady for Clovis High
Plains Hospital and the Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of First Christian
Church.

She was preceded in death by her husbands N.O. Bud Carpenter and Anthony Tony
Urban her parents J. H. and Flora Wale a brother Hoyt Wale Jr., and two sisters
Geraldine Dobbs and Christine Nevins.

She is survived by a daughter NorVella Skarda of Albuquerque two sons Doug Brenda
Carpenter and Doyle Tonnette Carpenter of Clovis two sisters Jeannean Larry
Grant of Kerrville, TX, and Florine Spriggs of Clovis six grandchildren Shayne
Cori Skarda, Ryan Ruth Skarda, Destiny Josh Bannister, Cassidy Carpenter,
Zandi Brandon Jacobs and Jack Carpenter and six great grandchildren.
