Beulah Mae Haynes, 75 of Albuquerque, N.M., went home to be with the Lord at 8:14 pm on Sunday, November 2, 2008. She was born December 22, 1932 in Manor, Texas to William H. Jones Sr and Pflecia Jones. She moved to Clovis, N.M. in 1937 where she attended Lincoln Jackson School. In 1959 she received her GED. She met and married Wilford Haynes.
In 1979, she took a class to become a Tax Preparer. She had three open-heart surgeries in 1973, 1978, and 1986, which resulted in her moving to Albuquerque in 1987 to be near her doctors. She joined the Foster Grandparent Program in 1994. She worked as a Foster Grandmother with Catholic Social Services for one and one-half years. She was transferred to Cuidondo Los Ninos where she worked for thirteen years in the infant room. She also worked briefly at La Mariposa Daycare in the infant room. She was an Honorary Member of the Foster Grandparent Advisory Council.
In her early years, she was a member of St John Baptist Church of Clovis, New Mexico where she served as an usher and sang in the choir. She joined Faith Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship in 1995. She was a member of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International. She had worked on several church fundraisers. She was a member of the Progressive Women of Faith Ministry and also a member of the Women of Worship Bible Study Ministry.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Pflecia Pokey Mitchell, four sons, one granddaughter, one great grandson, four great granddaughters, her mother and father, two sisters Robbie Nance and Patsy Randolph, three brothers William H. Jones Jr., Clarence Jones, and LeRoy Jones and brother-in-law LeRoy Nance.
She is survived by four daughters Wilma Haynes of Clovis, NM; Jameelah Judy Wesson of Dallas, TX; Mentory Muneerah Davis of Albuquerque, NM, and Vergie Haynes of Dallas, TX and son Winford Lee Haynes, Sr.wife Deborah of Austin, TX, 14 grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, twelve nieces and nephews, twenty-shy;nine great nieces and nephews and seventeen great-great nieces and nephews and brother-in-law R. L. Haynes and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at First Church of God in Christ 3400 Vinton St. at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 8. 2008, Pastor Ivy Wheeler of Albuquerque, NM will be officiating.
