Beulah Donaldson McWilliams, of Farwell, TX, passed from this life on Saturday, November 20, 2010. Beulah Helen was born January 7, 1918 to Joe and Pearl Donaldson at Whiteflat, TX. Beulah was one of the many pioneer children of the area, moving with her family in 1930, at the age of 12, to the Oklahoma Lane Community. She was the next to the last living member of the Oklahoma Lane graduating Class of 1936.
On June 4, 1938, she married Joe McWilliams at the Texico, NM Baptist Church. They both loved the farm where they spent the next 60 years near Lariat, Texas. After retirement they moved to Farwell, TX. Beulah loved her family and her church. She taught in the church at various levels for fortythree years. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Farwell. Some of the many things that Beulah enjoyed doing was visiting family and friends, being involved in her church, fishing, cooking and raising a vegetable garden. She loved to share her garden and one could not out give her. She was known for her pecan pies and hot rolls, and she loved the old gospel singing.
Beulah had no children but her nieces and nephews were her pride and joy. Each knew that they were special to her and welcome at any time. She kept a toy box for the little ones. She loved the Christmas season and she, with the love of her life Joe McWilliams, decorated the yard and house each year until they became physically unable. Both family and friends have enjoyed coloring Easter eggs with them, as well as many Christmas parties and fish fries.
Besides the many nieces and nephews who will miss Aunt Beulah, she leaves two sisters, Avis Harold Carpenter of Oklahoma Lane, TX, and Ruth Jay Boone of Clovis, NM and a sisterinlaw Dorothy Donaldson of Farwell, TX. Preceding her in death were her husband, Joe McWilliams her parents Joe and Pearl Donaldson three brothers, Onnie, Sterling and W.M. Dub Donaldson and seven sisters and their husbands: Maybelle Frank Edwards, Tressie Clyde Sparks, Margaret Jesse Terry, Ruby Hugh Tucker, Amy Arnold Hromas, Gladys Charlie Hromas, and Louise Wendol Christian.
