Bill Hodges

Bill Hodges age 80, of Clovis passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at his home. He was born December 12, 1929 in Portales, New Mexico to Silas and Bessie Brocharo Hodges. He married Lula Lee Pebley December 14, 1951 in Grady, New Mexico she preceded him in death in 1984. He married Ella Brown Houts October 27, 1984 in Dallas, Texas. Bill was a farm and ranch manager for the Hammond Ranch for 26 years and for the Smith Ranches for 22 years. Bill was a good and honest man who would give his opinion when asked but never judged anyone. He felt deep kindness for those in need and was unselfishly giving. There was nothing pretentious or fake about him. He was a true inspiration to all who had the fortune of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife Ella Hodges of Clovis three sons Billy Hodges Nancy of Huron, Ohio Tom Hodges Rebecca of Clovis, New Mexico Mark Hodges of Albuquerque, New Mexico one daughter Bonnie Coppock Joe Lovato of Albuquerque, New Mexico two step daughters Kati Houts of El Paso, Texas Janella Tears Gary of Edmond, Oklahoma one brother Sam Hodges Charlotte of Sands Spring, Oklahoma two sisters Opal Holly Cecil of Universal City, Texas Ester Ware Marion of Grady, New Mexico seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, one daughter Margie Diane Hodges, seven brothers and two sisters.

Closed Casket services will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Parkland Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Boydstun officiating. Burial will follow at the Grady Cemetery in Grady, New Mexico. Those that wish to view the body may come to funeral home before services or at the church prior to services. Memorials may be given to Hospice of the Sandia in Clovis or New Mexico Boys Ranch. Pallbearers will be Armand Smith, Craig Smith, Jessee Montiel, Tony LaPagalia, Mike Wilson, and Dick Gressett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Williams, Dean Hodges, Dale Hodges, All Grandchildren, and Great Nephews.
