Billy Joe Craft, of Farwell, Texas died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at Vista Care in Lubbock, Texas.
He was born January 13, 1930 in DeKalb, Texas in Bowie County to Joseph Lee Craft and Leila Salome Loyd Craft.
He attended school at Vaughn, New Mexico in his elementary years and later moving to and graduating in Clovis in 1949.
He married Rubie Jean Kittrell on September 30, 1952.
He worked forty-four years as an auto technician for Doc Stewart Company in Clovis, New Mexico, retiring in February 1995. He was happy to be able to help family and friends with their auto problems.
His favorite hobby was hunting rattlesnakes with his friends. They made ranchers in the area happy by taking the critters off their range land. Bill also thought it was fun working with his brothers-in-law on their farms.
He was a member of the Farwell First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife Rubie of the home, two sons, Terry Craft of Farwell and Billy D. Chip Craft Gina of Lubbock, three grandchildren: Matthew, Molly, Taylor Craft.
Memorial services will be held Friday, July 21, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Farwell First Baptist Church in Farwell, Texas. Officiating will be Bro. Kyle Clayton, David Gray and honorary minister will be Bro. J. L. Bass.
Memorial contributions may be made to Farwell First Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
