Billy Kerby

Billy B. Kerby, age 78, of Clovis, died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at his home. He was born on December 25, 1932 to Alney B. and Bonnie B. Ainsworth Kerby in Willard, New Mexico.

Billy was a Clovis resident since 1976. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1971 then worked for Civil Service at Cannon Air Force Base, retiring in 1990. Billy enjoyed woodworking and loved working on his 1943 Ford Jeep. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and was a member of the American Legion as well as the Victory Family Worship Center in Friona, Texas.

He is survived by three daughters, Donna Tom Avritt of Portales, NM, Myra Jim Pancrazio of Edgewood, NM, and Karen L.C. Gonser of Clovis two sons, William A. Kerby of Pleasant Hill, NM, and Robert Amy Kerby of Friona, TX one brother, A.B. Kerby of Soccoro, NM one sister, Etta Snider of Pent Rose, CO the mother of his children, Cleo McFall of Melrose, NM nine grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday January 31, 2011 at SteedTodd Chapel with Rev. Robert Kerby officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from noon until 1:00 p.m. before the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
