Billy Kinkade

Billy Kinkade age 82 of Clovis, New Mexico passed away at his home in Clovis May 30, 2014.

Billy was born on March 30, 1932 to Floyd and Dollie Bain Kinkade in Tulia, Texas on a sheep ranch. He moved to Clovis, NM when he was one year old. He moved to the house on Hall Street in Clovis at age eleven. Billy lived in the same house on Hall Street all of his life. He rode a horse to school and around town. Billy joined the United States Army in 1951 and he served in the Korean Conflict. He would meet his future wife Betty at the Midway dances in 1952. He married Betty Jo Burrow April 3, 1953 in Ft. Sumner, NM. He worked construction for Snow Construction in Clovis, NM. He then lived in California for sixteen years working as a pipefitter in the oil and gas refineries and at the shipyards. He moved back to Clovis and worked at Eastern New Mexico University Golf Course as a groundskeeper in Portales.

Billy is survived by his wife, Betty of Clovis, NM one son: Dan Kinkade of Clovis, NM four daughters: Karen Kinkade of Clovis, NM, Sheryl Dalke of Clovis, NM, Robbie Britzman Karl of Onterio, CA and Billie Jo Grabowsky of Clovis, NM ten grandchildren: Vickie Guthrie, Steve Kinkade Christy, Crystal Kinkade, Will Kinkade Krystal, Jason Britzman, Reese Kinkade, Michealle Grabowsky, Lauren Sackman John, Gina Madera Mario and Chris Grabowsky twentyfour great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents two brothers: Jerry Kinkade and Bob Kinkade son in law Dean Mobley one grandson: Joshua Kinkade and one great granddaughter: Hannah Ross.

Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at SteedTodd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis with Pastor Tony Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis. Casket bearers are Steve Kinkade, Will Kinkade, Johnny Guthrie, Blake Merimon, Chris Grabowsky, Quincy North, Dan Kinkade and Chad KinkadeHorn.
