Bobbie Stephens

Bobbie Louise Stephens went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2012 at Ranchwood Nursing Center in Yukon, Oklahoma at the age of 82. She was born on February 5, 1930 to Robert Lawson Edwards and Margaret Elizabeth McKinney in Plainview, Texas.

She graduated from Bovina High School, Texas in 1947. After attending Lippert Business College in Plainview, Texas she moved to Clovis and married Daryle A. Stephens on April 24, 1949. She and Daryle were married for 61 years, 11 months until his death April 5, 2011. She and Daryle were members of Central Baptist Church.

She worked for Mountain Bell as an operator for 28 years until retiring March 18, 1980. Bobbie and Daryle created the Fun Dancers and entertained, instructed Round Dance, and Country and Western Dance all over New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Elliott Cliff, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Daryle A. Stephens Jr. Audrey, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one sister, Yhvona Martin, Carson City, Nevada, one sisterin law, Belle Guthrie Gayle, Yukon, Oklahoma, three grandchildren, eight greatgrandchildren, four greatgreat grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband Daryle, her parents R.L and Margaret Edwards, two sisters Roberta Haney and Elizabeth Wonnacott, and one grandson, Cliff Allan Elliott.

A family visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27 at SteedTodd Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 28 at SteedTodd Funeral Home with Rev. Don Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers will be Paul Hendricks, Scott Guthrie, Richard Stephens and John Stephens.
