Bobby Newman

Bobby Newman was born December 28, 1934 in Beckham County, Oklahoma and passed away November 16, 2008 in Clovis, NM.

Bobby loved his family. He is survived by his wife Tommie Newman of the home, his son Monty and wife Vicki Newman of Hobbs, NM, daughter Mickey and husband Michael Elrod of Red Oak, TX, Grandsons Ryan and Kayna Newman, Regan Newman, Caleb and Genevieve Elrod, Noah and Tracee Elrod; his pride and joy great granddaughter Abigail Newman and sister, Jean Storts of Del Rio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Newman and his parents, Bernard Ethel Newman

Hes also survived by Tommies family Mark and Rhoda Reeves, Josh and Zach Reeves, Wade and Laura Reeves and Richard Greenwood.

Honorary pall bearers are Ryan Newman, Regan Newman, Caleb Elrod, Noah Elrod, Wayne Burch, Kent Carruthers and Romardo Lopez

Last but not least he is survived by his highly prized coffee buddies at Bills and Roden Smith.

In life Bobby cherished a strong work ethic, loyalty and honesty. He lived by his Christian principles and served as a Deacon in the Church of Christ. His love for country and community was great as evidenced by his involvement in civic and political affairs. He served on numerous planning commissions, served on the Clovis Community College Board of Trustees and was instrumental in the realization of the Clovis Civic Center.

Bobbys memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 16th Pile Church of Christ in Clovis with Michael Elrod officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, Oklahoma.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home.
