BRIAN WALLACE DAY

With great sadness, the family of Brian Wallace Day share that a kind and gentle man has passed away following exhaustive attempts to put his cancer into remission and fight off other sicknesses that weakened him. Brian was born on October 10, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, and passed away in Clovis, New Mexico, on May 27, 2018. He joined the Air Force in 1969 and served for 24 years. Shortly after joining, he married Janet Lynn Westbrook on June 27, 1970, in Alexandria, Virginia. They began a life together, traveling and serving in the Air Force. Brian served as an Air Force flight medic and aero medical technician. He served in numerous places, including California, Georgia, Germany, England, Africa, Italy, France, Spain, Sardinia, and Turkey. His final assignment was Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, New Mexico. After retirement, he and his wife remained in Clovis and he earned his Elementary Teaching Degree from Eastern New Mexico University.

Brian will be lovingly missed by his children, Jennifer Leigh Barnes (Michael) and Jason Christopher Day (Katie). Brian will miss his awesome four grandboys and sharing in their accomplishments. His daughter's sons, Braydon, 18 years, is pursuing a physician assistant degree and Brenden, 15, whose wrestling skill is taking him through school and onto many first-place podiums. His son's two sons, Elliott, 14, is quite an accomplished musician and student and Liam, 12, is an imaginative thinker and lover of all animals. Times spent with these grandsons were tender and special.

Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife Janet of nearly 48 years; his daughter Jennifer; son Jason; his four grandsons; his brother Stanley (Terry) Day, and sister Roxanne Frans, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Brian was preceded in death by his Dad and Mom, Stanley Chester Day, Jr., and Barbara Wallace Day.

Brian's gentle wit surfaced with a comment about the curtains in his hospital room just the other day ... at least I won't have to look at those ugly curtains anymore; ala Oscar Wilde.

Brian, gone too soon. Always in our hearts and we will hold you dear. The family has requested a private memorial in his honor.
