Calvin Hukill

Mr. Calvin Lavon Hukill of Clovis, New Mexico passed away in the early evening of Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

Calvin was born into the world on September 12, 1932 in Littlefield, Texas. He graduated at 16 years of age as valedictorian in High School having skipped from 4th grade to 6th grade and then to 8th grade in school. Calvin joined the Marine Corp after graduating and served the US for 3 years.

In January of 1955, Calvin married the love of his life, Sharalyn (Sherry) Dodge in Pacoma, CA. Calvin and Sherry built a life with one another as farmers in both Bovina, Texas and Clovis, New Mexico. The Hukills had three children together: Cathy, Troy, and Craig. Mr. Hukill farmed wheat, milo, and corn but he was also the first farmer to have cotton in all of New Mexico.  Mr. and Mrs. Hukill were loyal members of First United Methodist Church in Clovis, NM.

Calvin Hukill is preceded in death by; parents; Calvin and Ada Hukill, loving wife; Sherry Hukill, brother Troy Don Hukill, sister; Billye J. (Monnington) Hukill, and both sets of grandparents.

Mr. Hukill is survived by daughter; Cathy (Tobbie) Crosswhite and two sons; Craig and Troy Hukill. He is also survived by 5 beautiful grandchildren and 8 incredible great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held for Mr. Hukill on Monday, December 14, 2020 in Clovis, NM.

A large memorial service will be held on a later date.
