Camden Stevens

Camden Lee Stevens ,11, went to be with Jesus on May 24, 2021 following a tragic accident. Camden was born in Raton, NM on December 8, 2009 to C.J. (Cole) Stevens and Maria (Henna) Tafoya. Following a job opportunity, the family moved to Melrose, and Camden began to attend school at Melrose Elementary. He was funny, sweet, and easy going and soon had many friends.
Camden was a beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson, student, and friend who never failed to make everyone smile. He dearly loved both his family and his friends and could give the best winks, dimpled smiles, and hugs. These things show only a small portion of who he was and why he will be so desperately missed by all who knew him.
Camden loved drawing, playing baseball, playing Minecraft, and being with both family and friends. He was an amazing "Bubba" to his two sisters and was always ready to lend a helping hand to his mom or his dad. He enjoyed building things and taking things apart and could always be counted on to rustle up his own fun, including making his own muddy swimming pool in the front yard.
Camden is survived by his dad, C.J. Stevens and mom, Maria Tafoya, and sisters Blossom and Aliya of Melrose, NM; grandparents ,Robert and Judy Kaiser of Melrose, NM and Gary and Beverly Stevens of Moriarty, NM; his aunts and uncles, Cordelia and husband Randy Garcia of Raton, NM; Roberta Tafoya and wife Jessica of Pueblo, CO, Paula Tafoya and companion Simon Pino of Pueblo, CO; Juanita Schuster of Raton, NM; Cristal and husband Durward Wofford of Melrose, NM; and Khira and husband Tarron Whitehead of Melrose, NM; he is also survived by cousins, Annya and husband Julio Sanchez of Raton, NM and Robert, Ryan, Noah, Lianna, Bryan Jr., Calogano, Athena, Avianna, and Evalina also of Raton, NM and cousins Hannah, Ezra, Abigail, Ashton, and Jackson of Melrose, NM; also numerous friends ,including his best friend Levi Adams.
Services for Camden will be held on Thursday, June 3rd at the Melrose New Gym with burial at Melrose Cemetery to follow.
Arrangements for the funeral were entrusted to the Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis, NM.
