Carl Halliday

Carl George Halliday, 79 went to be with Our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Heartland Continuing Care Center in Portales. He was born on September 14, 1928 in Clovis, NM to George T. Halliday and Bertie Hileman Halliday. On November 11, 1967 he married Bevie Dana Hayden in Portales, NM.

He is survived by his wife, Bevie; daughters Carla Halliday of Portales and Sylvia Ken Katzenmaier of Caddo Mills, TX; grandchildren, Dana Woods, Heather Buzard, Kenneth, Keith Jeffrey Katzenmaier and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Bertie Hileman Halliday and a brother William James Bill Halliday.

While growing up he was a member of Blacktower 4-H club and enjoyed showing his animals. He attended Port Air school and graduated from Clovis High. He was employed by Clovis and Portales Livestock Auctions until 1986 when he was injured and retired and moved to Portales.

He was a member of Victory Life Church. He enjoyed raising chickens, and playing dominos and pool at the Portales Senior Center.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 28,2007 at Victory Life Church. Pastor Peter Jaramillo will officiate and Pastor Lupe Marquez will share a few special moments. Burial will follow at Portales Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Katzenmaier, Vannie Ray Halliday, J.D. Hileman, Mike O'Conner, Jim Brumfield and J. Waide Davis.

Honorary pallbearers are family and also many friends from the Portales Senior Center and Meal Site.
