Carol Ruth Thompson Smith

One of Carols favorite religious songs was Ill Fly Away and on October 21, 2011, Carol flew away to Gods celestial shore after a long illness. Visitation will be at Steed Todd Funeral Home 800 East Manana Clovis and grave side services will be at Mission Garden Cemetery, Monday October 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., Reverend Ray Clark officiating.

Carol was born to Clyde and Doris Thompson on April 26, 1947 in Clovis, New Mexico. She attended Clovis schools and graduated in 1965 before attending ENMU. She loved music, played the piano and violin and loved to sing. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. After a career at GMAC, she and her husband Dennis Smith, who preceded her in death, settled in El Paso,

She is survived by her companion Eugene Rolando DePuy of El Paso, Texas, brother David Clyde Thompson and his wife Patricia of Logan, New Mexico, sister Joyce Axtell and her husband Vaughn of Anton, Colorado and sister Shirley Godfrey and her husband Larry of Fort Worth, Texas, one niece, five nephews and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
