Carolyn Stroud

September 14, 1942 — March 19, 2021

Carolyn R. Stroud, 78, of Clovis, New Mexico died Friday, March 19, 2021 at her home.

Carolyn Ruth Stroud was born in Hedley, Texas on September 14, 1942 to Alfred Kenneth Langford and Mary Evelyn Everett.
The family farmed in Hedley and Olton, Texas, and then moved to Plainview, Texas in 1947. Her dad's job took them to Wichita Falls, Amarillo, Plainview, and ultimately, Clovis, New Mexico, where Carolyn made her home. Carolyn married Ronnie Lee Stroud on July 29, 1960.
Carolyn was a member of the 21st Street Church of Christ. She loved her women's study group, volunteering, and helping those in need.
Carolyn worked as a bookkeeper for several local businesses, ran her own women's clothing store, and invested in real estate. She and Ronnie started a local construction company, S&S Drywall. She retired from Western Mortgage in 2012.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Ken, mother, Evelyn, her son, Kenneth, and her sister, Maisie.
She is survived by her stepmother, Doris Langford, of Monett, Missouri, husband, Ronnie Stroud, and her children, Ronda (Stroud) Rupe and husband, Mark, of Clovis, and Greg Stroud and wife, Tally, of Wichita, Kansas; three siblings, Richard Langford (Ann) of Birmingham, Alabama, Michael Langford (Pat), of Berwick, Missouri, and Myra (Langford) Mitchell (Mike) of Reeds, Missouri; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, helping with school activities, and attending sports events. She made sure her home was a fun place for her kids and their friends, and ultimately her family. She was an avid quilter and Christmas stocking maker. She loved reading, jigsaw puzzles, and crafts. Camping, lake trips, and dune buggies filled many summer days. A good vacation was a trip to see parents and family.
She adored her family. She loved seeing her extended family and didn't miss the annual family reunion in Lubbock, Texas. She valued keeping in touch and sharing burdens and good times with all of her family.
Carolyn was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. She always was there to lend a helping hand when needed. Her generosity, care, and big smile will always be remembered.
Services are held at 21st Street Church of Christ by Troy Oliver.
