Mr. Cecil Qualls has changed his address and is now residing in his heavenly mansion.
Mr. Qualls passed from this earth on January 4, 2021 at his home in Clovis, New Mexico.
Cecil Qualls was born in Clovis, NM to parents Samuel Robert Qualls and Lillie Maude Meador on February 2, 1921. Cecil and his brother Wayne grew up in different areas in the US ranging from Clovis, and Quemado, New Mexico, all the way to Montgomery Alabama. Cecil joined the Air Force to serve our grand country in September of 1942. Cecil was a Propeller Mechanic and after being honorably discharged in 1946 he fell in love with soon to be wife, Janie. In fall of 1947 Cecil had the ultimate honor in marrying his closest friend, Janie Josephine (Hendricks) Qualls. They created a home, life, and family together in Clovis, NM. They were married for 73 incredible years.
Cecil Qualls was a talented mechanic, and truck driver. Cecil would make 2 trips a week at 35mph to California hauling cattle. He drove a converted military truck that was one of the first diesels in this part of our nation. Cecil also worked for the operating Engineers Union #9 for many years.
Mr. Qualls family describes him as “hardworking, old fashioned, as well as a fine designer and fabricator.” Mr. Qualls could have patented many of the haul equipment he created with his strength and incredible mind.
Mr. Qualls will be proudly remembered by his family, and those who love him.
A graveside – memorial service for Mr. Cecil Qualls will be held at Mission Cemetery in Clovis, NM on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 10:00am with Pastor Wayne Boydstun officiating.
