Graveside services for Charles Bo Jack Gear age 85 of Clovis will be Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dean Turvaville officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard. Mr. Gear was born April 20, 1923 in Caddo, Oklahoma to Jess James and Edna Matilda Turner Gear. He passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Bee Hive Homes in Clovis. He moved to Amarillo in 1929 where he attended school until he joined the service at the age of 16 and was in the 19th Bomber Group as a tail gunner. He served in WWII serving in East Indies, New Guinea, and PaPua. He married Mary Selman on November 11, 1946 at the First Baptist Church in Clovis. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 35 years where he retired as the Supervisor of Operation Yard Master. After his retirement he moved to Logan, New Mexico where he was an avid Bass Tournament Fisherman. He moved back to Clovis in August of 2007. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Santa Fe Bowling League, the Clovis Bass Club, the American Legion, he attended the Mens Bible Class and was a member of the Logan Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary Gear of Clovis; one son and his wife Danny and Becky Gear of Clovis; one daughter and her husband Connie and Richard Snyder of Grenville, New Mexico; one sister Emily Mansfield of Austin, Texas; one brother Fred Gear of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren Michael Gear of Amarillo, Texas, and Kristi Banister of Clovis; three great grand daughters Kaci Leatherwood of Portales, New Mexico, Jessica Tate of Dallas, Texas, and Tiffany Tate of Plano, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Joe Gear.
