Charles Ray Kidd
August 22, 1934 to October 28, 2014
Charles Ray Kidd of Clovis NM passed away in Lubbock TX at the age of 80. He was born on August 22, 1934 in Hydro OK to Leonard Cile Kidd and Mabel Louise Carver.
Charles moved to Artesia NM in 1941 and attended school there where he graduated as a proud Artesia Bulldog. He enlisted and served in the United States Air Force when he turned 18 and served proudly for over 20 years. He did everything from flight scheduling to operational groups and served in Vietnam. During his military service he was stationed in Germany, Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida, Tennessee, and Goose Bay Labrador Canada. Charles retired from the Air Force with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He dearly loved his family and would do anything for them. Regardless as to where he was everyone knew he was only a phone call away. He loved sports and was described as a sports fanatic who loved to watch his grand kids play. His teams were the Artesia Bulldogs, OK Sooners, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Charles had many jobs but one that took him the farthest was during his time working for Prince Mansour of Saudi Arabia. Charles worked for the Prince for 23 years working as his personal Advisor and life traveling assitant. His job included taking care of the Princes needs as he traveled throughout Saudi Arabia and the world. Another project he headed up during this time was the PeaceSun F15 project which was a plan for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to purchase new F15 fighter jets and upgrade others.
Survivors include his son Charles Rick Kidd daughters Debbie Braunsweiger Craig of Kettering OH, Carol KiddGarza Tim of Clovis NM, Cheryl Cordeniz Gene of Clovis NM brother Keith Kidd Beverly of Vancouver WA grandchildren Sylvia Calderon Dave of Clovis NM, Shawna Vala Randy of Clovis NM, G.J. Cordeniz of CO, Nathan Cordeniz Sarah of Clovis NM, Christopher Jason Kidd of Clovis NM, Kristen Warren of Watford England, Ashley Kidd of Albuquerque NM, Sarah Sheppard Wallace of Londonderry of NH, Lauren Kidd of Amarillo TX and 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Steed Todd Chapel at 800 E. Manana in Clovis NM from 9am to 5pm on Thursday October 30 with the funeral service to follow at 6pm in the Steed Todd Chapel. Condolences can be left online at www.Steedtodd.com.
