Services for Charles Maynard Martin age 85 of Texico will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Steed-Todd Chapel with Rev. Joel Horne officiating. Burial will follow at the Texico Cemetery in Texico, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Jonathon Fickel, Anthony Tony Martin, Harvey Brady, Allen Collins, Jerry Pierce, and Roger Odegaard. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Edward Martin, and C.J. Gonzales. Charles was born July 28, 1923 in ONeil, Nebraska to Walter Preston and Bessie Elizabeth Jugular Martin. He passed away Thursday, July 8, 2009 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. Charles graduated school from House, New Mexico and was married August 11, 1943 in Tucumcari, New Mexico to Winona Nonie Scroggins. He was enlisted in the U.S. Army August 16, 1944 and served during WWII. He worked Civil Service at Cannon Air Force Base as the Plant Manager for the Hospital. He was a member the First Baptist Church in Texico.

He is survived by two daughters Carla Jo Fickel of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and Brenda and her husband Monte Brady of Clovis, New Mexico; two sons Bobby and wife Joann Martin of Clovis, New Mexico, and Benny and his wife Patty Martin of Larkspur, Colorado, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, two daughters Donna Gayle Martin and Rhonda Martin, his parents, one sister Mavis Cops, and a son-in-law Gary Fickel.
