Mr. Charles "Robbie" William Robinson, of Richwood, West Virginia, born on May 12, 1938 in Fenwick, West Virginia to the late William R. Robinson and Virgie A (Green) Robinson, peacefully joined our Lord and Savior at age 80 on December 25, 2018 in Clovis, New Mexico while surrounded by his loving family.
Charles was a retired US Air Force Tech Sgt. with an extensive career that included the Korean and Vietnam wars. Charles was also the manager of Short Block Engine Exchange and later the part owner of R & R Engine Exchange in Clovis. He was a prominent figure in the local Search and Rescue unit for many years. Charles loved to off-road and camp with his family. He also lent his audio/visual expertise to his churches. He was a long time member of Texico First Baptist Church and Prince Street Baptist Church.
Charles was the beloved husband of the late Shelva Jean Robinson, his childhood sweetheart of 61 years, who preceded him in death last month. He was also preceded in death by his parents, William and Virgie Robinson, 3 brothers, Leon, Eugene, and Beuhl Robinson, and 1 sister, Violet Robinson.
Charles is survived by his children Terry Robinson, Susan Robinson, David Robinson, Duane Robinson (Katie), and Nancey Payne (Leon), 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charles's name to Prince Street Baptist Church of Clovis where he was a devoted member.
Friends and family members are invited to attend his celebration of life, officiated by Pastor Tommy Hohstadt, at Prince Street Baptist Church, 421 N. Prince, Clovis, NM on Thursday, December 27th at 1:00PM. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
