Charles Parks Strain was born on August 25, 1909 in Baird, Texas and passed into the presence of Jesus on December 8, 2006 in Phoenix Arizona, at 97 years old
Charles completed high school in Canyon, TX, and graduated from West Texas State Teachers College in 1931. His occupations included the following: high school teacher, band director; forester and firefighter; builder, contractor, draftsman; technical instructor at an Air Force base in Cheyenne, Wyoming; lumber company worker; salesman; repairman; telephone line installer; and he was in the Army and National Guard. Charles lived in TX, NM, KS, WY, CO, and AZ
Charles and his first wife, Ina Lennus Welsh Strain, who is deceased, had four children: Ken Strain of Phoenix, Phyllis Bolsinger of Portland, OR, Jan Potter of Phoenix, and Ted Strain of Dallas, TX. His second wife, Tommie Storrie Strain, has four sons: Bryce Storrie of Albuquerque, NM, Kirk Storrie who is deceased, Sandy Storrie of Hamilton, OH, and Bob Storrie, of TN. Tommie is still living in Ohio with her son, Sandy, and his family. Between their two families, Charles and Tommie had 8 children, 14 grand children, and 12 great grand children
Charles was kind hearted, dependable, and appreciative, and he will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16, in Glendale, AZ , and Charles funeral will be held at Steed-Todd Funeral Home, 800 E. Manana, Clovis, New Mexico at10 AM on Monday, December 18. Charles will be buried in Browning Cemetery near McAlister, NM.
