Cheryl Smoot

Cheryl Ann Smoot, 70, of Clovis, New Mexico passed away on April 27th, 2025, in Portales, New Mexico.

A viewing will be on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, from 9-5 in the Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, at Legacy Church in the south auditorium with Pastor Juan Amarilla of Legacy Church officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Garden Cemetery. Arrangements have been made with Steed-Todd Funeral Home.

Cheryl was born in Pampa, Texas to Harold and Viola Haynie on April 15th, 1955. She went to school at Farwell High School in Farwell, Texas. She married Tommy Smoot on June 2nd, 1973, in Clovis, New Mexico. She graduated from Clovis Community College. She worked as a Radiological Technician at Plains Regional Medical Center for 25 years.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Viola Haynie.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Tommy Smoot, her son and his wife, Jeffrey and Melanie Smoot, her son Gregory Smoot, her son, his wife and her grandson Bradley, Lorissa and Levi Smoot, and her brother, Hal Haynie.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Smoot, Gregory Smoot, Bradley Smoot, Robert Smoot and Shaffin Baldwin.
