Chester Madison Rierson, 84, of Clovis, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis. He was born September 21, 1925, in Clovis, to the home of George and Alpha Jackson Rierson.
After graduating from Clovis High School in 1943 he joined the U. S. Army and served in Europe and the Pacific. After serving in the military he attended Eastern New Mexico University. He married Nida Ann Moss, May 9, 1947, in Clovis, NM. He worked in the retail business until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Noonday Lions Club, served as president of Clovis Mens Bowling Association, and secretary of Business Professional Mens Bowling League.
He is survived by his wife, Nida Rierson of Clovis 3 daughters, Peggy Lee Smith of Fort Worth, TX, Donna Horton of Clovis and Dianne Ronnie Jones of Clovis 1 son Mike Gail Rierson of Clovis and 5 grandchildren Stephanie Bryan Allen of Tyler, Texas, and Sydnee Horton, Tanner Horton, Kelcee Jones and Kade Jones of Clovis, NM.
He was preceded in death by his parents 1 brother, Dallas Rierson 3 sisters, Emily Marchman, Dessie Langston and Velma Murray.
A graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 2, 2010, at Texico Cemetery with Rev. Margot Thompson officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
