A Praise Service for Chloe Mitchell, 64, Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 18, 2014 in Clintons First Baptist Church, officiated by family members. Arrangements under the direction of the KiesauLee Funeral Home.
A Praise Service will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 20, 2014 in the First Baptist Church in Portales, NM and burial will follow Tuesday in the Beevers Cemetery in Forest, New Mexico under the direction of the Steed Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.
Kathryn Chloe Carmichael Mitchell was born June 18, 1949 to Oliver G. Carmichael and Rubie Helen Beevers Carmichael in Clovis, New Mexico and passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in the Oklahoma University Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Chloe was raised in Melrose, New Mexico and graduated from Melrose High School in 1967. She continued her education at Eastern New Mexico University and received her teaching degree after four years of study. She was married to Terrill Mitchell December 21, 1968 in Clovis. Being married to a coach they traveled extensively and she taught school in Clovis, NM, Roswell, NM, Borger, TX, Dora NM, Reydon, OK, Sweetwater, OK and most recently was teaching at Navajo, OK.
The Mitchells moved to Clinton in 2003 where her husband, Terrill is on the ministry staff of the First Baptist Church in Clinton.
She is a longtime faithful and active member of the First Baptist Church, she loved being involved in education whether it be in the class room or teaching the word of God one on one she loved people and was always ready to entertain, she was an accomplished singer and most of all loved to encourage others.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Doug Carmichael.
She is survived by her husband, Terrill Mitchell, of the home, five daughters, Marla Childers and husband, Shayne, of Seminole, TX, Terra Greer and husband, Eric, of Artesia, NM, Shantel Cooley and husband, David, of Wichita, KS, Alissa Hodgson and husband, Corey, Wichita, KS and Kyleigh Duvall and husband, Jacob, of Dallas, TX.
She is also survived by six grandchildren.
