Clark Stanley Jr.

Clark Stanley Jr. was born in Tribby, Oklahoma, July 28, 1919 to Clark Stanley and Matty Smith. Clark was the youngest of five children.

He went to work for the CCCs during the Depression and was sent to work in New Mexico on projects in the Las Cruces Hatch areas. This is where Clark met Betty Banghart whom became his wife on June 1, 1941.

He was drafted into the Navy and served as an electrician and P.T. Boat Instructor in San Diego, California. After the war he got a job as an Electrician for the AT SF Railroad in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Clark Betty had four children while living in Albuquerque Lynne, Richard, Kathryn and Kevin.

In 1959 Clark and his family were transferred to Clovis, New Mexico. Clark Betty became residents of Texico, New Mexico where they raised their four children.

He passed away at the Farwell Convalescent Center in Farwell, Texas on September 6, 2009. He is survived by his daughters Lynne Robinson of Texico and Kathy and Mark Yannotti of Farwell; sons Rick and Donna Stanley of Texico, and Kevin Peggy Stanley of Belen, New Mexico. There are also 11 surviving grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Betty; a son in law Floyd Robinson, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was laid to rest beside his wife at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell, September 9, 2009, following a family graveside service.
